I am looking for this baby below -- she is my 1/2 sister. Her name is Yahne. The parents are Ninette Martin (from France) and Lloyd (Louis) Rognan (from Chicago) also pictured. The picture is taken in downtown Holyoke Mass on Sept 9, 1949. They all lived together for awhile in September 1949 to Christmas 1951 on North Bridge Street in Holyoke. My dad was also going to Art School in Chicago at the time and only came for extended visits.
Yahne was born in about March 1949 in either Paris, France or Holyoke, Massachusetts. The couple met while my dad was a GI in WW2 working in Paris at the US Army's Stars n Stripes office. I have many love letters that the mother Ninette wrote to my father. When my father died I discovered his secret box of photos and love letters.
Ninette has a sister named Christianne Martin who married a GI (most likely from Holyoke) named Bill. They may have adopted Yahne. Bill took her to Europe in the autumn of 1951. Ninette moved back to France by Christmas 1952.
Ninette was married by at least April 1955 and was living in Lyons, France at that time. No other information is available. I want to find this sister of mine or my dad's old girlfriend, Ninette. My father was a prominent artist and I believe alot of his artwork is expressions of his pain for neglecting this child - Yahne.
My father Lloyd got married in July 1953 and had 2 children, Bruce Rognan (me) and Cindy Rognan.
ANY OF YOUR CLUES WOULD HELP - SPECIFICALLY I AM SEARCHING FOR:
1. Birth record of Ninette martin born in about 1922 somewhere in France.
2. Marriage record in Lyons of Ninette Martin sometime between Christmas 1952 and April 1955
3. Birth record of Yahne Martin or Yahne Rognan born in about March 1949.
4. Current addresses or phone of these people.
